Piper Blackall

Yu Kyokasyotai is a contemporary textbook face that incorporates the strokes of ballpoint pen or pencil. Developed in collaboration with a textbook publisher, this typeface meets the requirements of textbook faces, such as stroke order of Kanji or proportion of Hiragana and Katakana characters. The typeface consists of two styles, one intended for vertical typesetting (for reading or penmanship textbooks) and the other for horizontal typesetting (for mathematics or science textbooks).

游教科書体 Nファミリーは、ボールペンや鉛筆などの硬筆で書かれた筆跡を取り入れた現代的な教科書体です。
教科書制作会社と共同開発することによって、漢字の筆順や仮名の筆法など、教科書体に求められるスペックを高いレベルでクリアしています。また国語や書写に適した縦組用と算数や理科に適した横組用の２つのフォントをパッケージしましたので、用途に合わせて使いわけていただけます。

Yu Kantei is a typeface of Kantei style which was originally developed in Edo period (1603–1868) for Kabuki signages. Fat and curvy strokes are designed to fill as much of the counter as possible to represent and wish for the Kabuki seats to be full. Yu Kantei preserves the Kantei style while some parts are arranged to improve legibility.

勘亭流は江戸時代に作られた歌舞伎の看板などに使われる肉太の文字で、うねった線で隙間なく構成されたとても個性的な書体です。隙間を嫌うのは、お客さんが隙間なく入るようにとの願いがこめられたものとされ、縁起文字として現代でも根強い人気があります。
游勘亭流は太くうねるような筆法や隙間を埋める構成などの勘亭流の特徴を継承しながら、読みやすくなるようにアレンジしています。

Yutuki Midashi Mincho is a headline and display Mincho typeface based on a design of a metal type from Taisho period (1912–1926). Yutuki Midashi Mincho works excellent in large-size use such as book cover or titles.

游築見出し明朝体は、大正時代の金属活字をベースに制作された見出し用の明朝体です。
当時の活字は、専門の職人によって一文字一文字彫刻刀で彫られた種字を元に作られていました。原寸・逆字で彫るという悪条件の中、彼らが残した仕事は、明朝体デザインの古典として、現在でも高く評価されています。装丁、エディトリアルデザインのタイトルなど大きなサイズで真価を発揮する書体です。

Yu Gothic is a standard Japanese sans serif type family designed to match Yu Mincho. Slightly small counters of Kanji characters and the small letter faces of Hiragana and Katakana makes the typeface highly readable. Also the delicate details in the elements are referred to the brush strokes in Japanese calligraphy, which separates Yu Gothic from the other Japanese sans serif typefaces.

游ゴシック体ファミリーは、游明朝体と一緒に使うことを想定して開発された、スタンダードな角ゴシック体ファミリーです。 ややフトコロがせまい漢字と、伝統的なスタイルを持ったすこし小さな仮名の組み合わせが、このファミリーの大きな特徴です。

Yu Mincho family was first developed with a concept, a Mincho typeface which can set historical novels. Regular weight is the core of this family designed to be used for hardcover and paperback books’ main text. Even sizes of Kanji characters gives a modern impression, while Hiragana and Katakana are traditional style. This match of modern and traditional distinguishes Yu Mincho from the other Mincho typefaces.
* Please note that the ones named Pr6 includes both Pr6 and Pr6N. Pr6N supports JIS X0213:2004, Pr6 supports JIS90.

游明朝体ファミリーは「時代小説が組めるような明朝体」をキーワードに、単行本や文庫などで小説を組むことを目的に開発した游明朝体 Rを核とした明朝体ファミリーです。
文字の大きさの揃った現代的な明るい漢字と、伝統的な字形を生かしたスタンダードな仮名の組み合わせは、これまでの明朝体とは違う、游明朝体の大きな特徴です。

游明朝体ファミリーは文字の骨格は同じで線の太さだけを変えた従来のファミリーの考え方とは異なります。見出し用に特化した太いウェイトのBとEはフトコロを狭めに設定し引き締まったデザインとしました。その結果、漢字、仮名、英数字とも他のウェイトとは骨格が異なります。
